19 responses for salvation in Peterborough

I thank God for a great day in Peterborough! 19 people who told us they are not part of any church prayed a salvation response prayer when I spoke at Life Church’s Carol Service yesterday. And one other who did not pray the prayer, also not church, said they wanted to discover more about Christianity. It was a great event featuring a tremendous performance of Cliff Richard’s Saviour’s Day, led by Adam Hawkins. I’ve spoken at many carols but I don’t think I’ve ever heard that song performed at one before, and it was absolutely brilliant. In fact all the music was amazingly good. The choir also sung to the congregation in the coffee area before the service, which was another first. I enjoyed preaching in the round (see pic) again at the only venue where I’ve ever done this. When I first visited Life Church at the Thomas Deacon Academy, the church was led by Adam Bradley, who is now leading a church in Great Yarmouth. On my next visit it was led by Wouter Vertegaal, who is now church planting in Nijmegen in Holland, and now the church is led by Luke Sears, who moved across from City Church Cambridge recently. It’s been great to meet Luke, who comes from the same part of the world as me. Great to see the church powering on post-Covid.
