My final Carol Service of the year was at Christ Central Church Penge, where 2 years ago, 32 people responded for salvation. Once again, it wasn’t the same story this time, with me preaching online from local train station platforms! But there was a real sense of need. This event took place just as we moved into Tier 4. Repeating the trend, three times more people watched the service online than did so in person when I was with these guys in December 2018. Here’s some feedback from the elders in Penge . . . “I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for your excellent message that you gave for us at our Christmas carol concert. It was so lovely of you to travel to Penge and do some of your filming from there, genius. The whole message was as ever engaging, relevant and crystal clear. I know of many who have said how much they got out of you talk, and I believe we had two people respond to the gospel as well. My own personal feelings are that we will not know the full extent of impact we are having in these days of livestream, but I am believing that we will have many new faces and salvations in the middle to end of 2021 when we can actually meet again properly. It feels very much like days of sowing rather than reaping. We want to thank you for your hard work and really helpful suggestions to us, they have been invaluable in helping us to put on these kind of services down the years. Thanks also for always being encouraging, it is contagious.”
