The band and the congregational singing of the carols led by Max Eaton were so strong that I think anyone getting up to explain the gospel afterwards would have had begun at a great advantage. I’ve enjoyed two previous visits to the church, which is led by Richie Powell, and I’m very impressed by the integrity and strength of what has been built. In fact the founder Jonny Wheeler was there this morning as was Chris Smith who taught me 22 years ago. It was great also to see some old Christ Church London friends Mike & Susannah Webb, and also Sam Hailes whose Profile Podcasts and Premier Magazine I am a hugely grateful for. I’m now on my way to Honiton in Devon for my final Carol Service of 2018 at 7.30pm at the Beehive.
