Answering questions earlier today on “Was Jesus just a nice guy?” in the student union, at the University of East Anglia. Afterwards we had 1 more person respond by saying yes to Christ, or “count me in” and one more who said they’d like to know more. In both cases people who told us they are not part of any church, nor part of the Christian Union. Here’s some of the questions I was asked: “I don’t know what to think about Jesus because he often seems to avoid the question of whether he’s God or not. He won’t be drawn on the subject. How can you explain his equivocation?” “You failed to substantiate the rationale for C S Lewis’ distinction between Lord, Liar or Lunatic. On what basis do you dis-regard the other options?” “Can you be a good Christian if you believe in gay marriage and women priests?” “Surely your talk has a confirmational bias?”
