19 people who told us they are not part of any church, prayed the salvation response prayer last night when I spoke at Cornerstone City Church’s Carol Service in Medway. And three others who are also not church, didn’t pray the prayer, but did say they’d like to know more. Many years ago (in fact 1993-94) I toured the streets of Gillingham, Rochester and Chatham in the Invicta FM and Invicta Supergold AM Radio Car, in my days working as a radio presenter. It was great to be back presenting the good news about the birth of Jesus to a very engaged and responsive crowd, on my first ever visit to Cornerstone City Church on a Sunday (I’ve spoken before at a big event for them in a tent 5 years ago!) At the Carols last night, there was an outstanding gospel choir and it was good to team up with my friend Adam Voke, who is such a good bloke to be with, and has done a tremendous job leading his church into significant growth over recent years. The church meets in a state of the art further education college, and it was a joy to be with them all.
