18 people responding in Ashford

I’m delighted to say that 18 people who told us they are not part of any church, prayed the salvation response prayer when I spoke this morning at Gateway Church, Ashford. And an additional 2 people, also not church, who didn’t pray the prayer, said they’d like to know more. There were about 350 people in the venue for my second visit to Gateway, Ashford. My previous visit was 3 years ago. There were hardly any empty seats and there was a great atmosphere at The North School where they meet. The Carols band was led by Barney Hall, whose parents Graham & Sue (pictured) planted the church back in 2002, and still lead it now. Graham & Sue kindly entertained me for lunch in their home afterwards. They were extremely modest about their role in the church’s growth. Gateway have just bought a school! A school that’s been out of use for the past 5 years. Graham showed me the building and grounds himself. It will be a multi-purpose base (called Riverside) to bless the community. I also enjoyed getting to know another elder in the church, Richard Burgess, who kindly organised my visit. He told me the amazing story of his journey from a strict Baptist church, via Pentecostalism to Gateway, all within the confines of Kent. I’m now off to speak at an evening Carol Service at Cornerstone City Church.
