With Tope Koleoso at Jubilee Church London
Adrian Holloway on December 19, 2016 with 0 CommentsIt was a tremendous privilege to speak at Jubilee Church London yesterday. I’ve known Pastor Tope Koleoso for many years, but it was wonderful to see the rapport he has with the congregation he leads and to sit with his wife Kemi and also see his sons who played in the band, one of bass and one on drums. I am very grateful to David Pask who invited me to speak this summer at a midweek event and my Christmas visit came out of that. When I first met Tope this was a church of around 100, now they are well over a thousand, and I was told in Starbucks waiting for the 9.30am service to start that it was 1,600. Anyway, this kind of growth over a 10 year period is absolutely brilliant, and pretty much unprecedented in my world anyway, and I was taken aback at the amazing tech operation. I spoke at their Enfield site, but they also have sites in Wood Green, Ilford and Zambia! They meet in an absolutely enormous cinema where they fill several screens with the service piped from “Joy” screen to “Grace” and “Hope Screen” etc. As you preach, you can see the other screens on a monitor in front of you. The standard of musicianship was phenomenal and it was also a great laugh, especially when Tope led us in the 12 days of Christmas at the end. Great people to preach to! Thrilled also to meet a lady who was healed at Newday when I prayed for her who shared a notice about food bank. Very moved by her story. Everyone who says that Christianity is dying in Britain has obviously not visited Cineworld Enfield on a Sunday morning!
