A great night in Portsmouth

15 people who told us they were not part of church, nor part of the Christian Union prayed the salvation response prayer last night at the Portsmouth University CU Carol Service. And an additional 6, also not church, nor CU, didn’t pray the prayer, but did say they’d like to know more. So this was a great finale because I started talking to Feargal Kelly about speaking at this event back in September 2014, so it was a long time in the planning. The Portsmouth CU are a particularly friendly group of students and I also enjoyed meeting the University Vice-Chancellor and his wife who sat just behind me at St Luke’s Church. They also were very welcoming. Great also to see Ruthio Maudling from our home church, who’s studying in Chichester, and the irrepressible Niv Lobo, who I’ve been working with into Southampton University. Finally a huge well done to Mollie Morrison and her team, who pulled the whole thing off with smiles on their faces. I had 15 minutes with them in Winchester in October casting vision for the Carols and I could see that they were excited about it. I thank God for partnerships like these.
