Great news: At Keele University we had 3 more non-church and non-CU people say “count me in” this lunchtime and 4 more who said they’d like to know more. This means that after just 3 events, we’ve had a total of 9 people so far who have said Yes to Christ, and an additional 10 who have said they’d like to know more. The lunch talk today was on the reliability of the Bible. Questions afterwards included: “What about the Dead Sea Scrolls?” “What about the apocrypha?” “Isn’t everything about Jesus pre-figured by an Egyptian Sun god and surely that undermines the uniqueness of Jesus?” and then a host of questions from a Moslem perspective: “How would you respond to the challenge to come up with anything that is as beautiful and perfect as the Qur’an?” “Surely the perfection of the Qur’an proves that it is a Divine book?” “How would you account for the phenomenal success of Islam, especially considering how modest Mohammed’s claim was? He never claimed to be God.” etc
