The hope of glory in Durham

Adrian Holloway on February 22, 2016 with 0 Comments

I so enjoyed staying with Alan & Sandra Bell, who lead Emmanuel Church, Durham, where I spoke on “Christ in you, the hope of Glory”(Colossians 1:27) twice on Sunday morning, and then in the evening I spoke on 5 challenging texts to the Emmanuel students in the city centre. It was tremendous to meet up with my exact contemporary Andrew Dowsett after the first service, someone who having lived with me for 3 years knows what I am really like! And it was so encouraging over lunch to hear the whole story of how Alan & Sandra became Christians and their journey from Methodism into what used to be called “Restoration” and into Emmanuel Church in the 1980s. They’ve been so unfailingly positive throughout the time I’ve known them, and have been an inspiration to me. I’m now off to Keele University for a week.
