Partnering with Australian Bible College Principal

Adrian Holloway on November 24, 2013 with 0 Comments

Just got back from a great weekend away with the Durham University Christian Union. I did 3 talks across the weekend, and also participated in an evening presentation which profiled their 2014 Events Week, which I’ll be involved in. To that end, yesterday there was a skype phone call which we watched with the speaker I’ll be partnering with next year. So in February 2014, I’ll be teaming up with an Australian Presbyterian Bible College Principal, Rev David Cook, who for 25 years led of Sydney Missionary and Bible College. I’ll be speaking at lunchtime each day, and David Cook (pictured) will take the evenings. In terms of lunchtimes, I’ll also be taking live questions from the audience, in response to the following objections. These are the titles the students have given me:

Friday – Why do we need God now we have science?

Mon – Isn’t the Bible a book of myths?

Tues – How can you prove Jesus rose from the dead?

Wed – How can a loving God allow so much suffering?

Thurs – How can Jesus claim to be God?

Fri – How can a loving God send good people to hell?

We also watched a video presentation from Dick Dowsett, who along with his wife Rose, has served for 40 years with Overseas Missionary Fellowship. The Dowsetts will also be coming to Durham to lead the work with overseas students, who are studying in Durham.
