Report from Ashford, Kent

Adrian Holloway on November 5, 2013 with 0 Comments

There were around 200 adults and 100 children when I spoke at Gateway Church, Ashford on Sunday morning. The church was started by Graham & Sue Hall, when they moved from King’s Community Church, Norwich eleven years ago to start a new church from scratch. For the past 17 years, I’ve been invited to speak at these kind of churches that began with a group of 5 or 6 believers. Gateway now run a large furniture ministry and other programmes that touch 100s of people in Kent. In a nation where the common perception is that the Christian church is in decline, it’s amazing to see what God has done through new churches like Gateway. They are moving towards launching a second Sunday morning service and they are already planting a church in nearby Tenterden. I’d only been to Ashford once before in my life, and that was to get on the train with Julia to Paris in 1997 where I proposed marriage to her! It was great to be back!
