Cambridge University visit

Adrian Holloway on October 15, 2013 with 0 Comments

It could be quite a daunting prospect to carry the relay baton that has been handed on from such greats of Cambridge University’s past as Thomas Cranmer, Hugh Latimer, Nicholas Ridley, John Milton, William Wilberforce, C T Studd, C S Lewis and John Stott, to name just a few. But I thought that the current Cambridge University CU were in great spirits, and they were full of enthusiasm when they gathered at Eden Baptist Church on Saturday evening. I spoke from Jeremiah 1:4-12, a passage I’ve never spoken on before, but I was encouraged by the feedback afterwards. It’s the first meeting I’ve ever been in where all 8 members of the CU exec were asked to tell those assembled which facial feature they were most self-conscious of! I was glad to be spared this! At Newcastle CU I was asked just before I preached: “if you were an animal which animal would you be?” which was tame by comparison.
