17 salvation responses at Brickhill, Bedford

Adrian Holloway on September 25, 2012 with 0 Comments

There were 17 people who responded for salvation on Sunday (23rd Sept) at Brickhill Baptist Church in Bedford when I preached on The Prodigal Son from Luke 15. We had 4 respond in the 9.00am service and an additional 13 in the 11.00am meeting. The number of people present seemed considerably more than when I was last there exactly a year ago, when they just held one Sunday morning gathering. Pastor Richard Green made me feel very welcome once again, and the whole thing seemed to be a great success. The fact that this kind of response is happening regularly convinces me that folks will respond to the gospel if they hear it in the right context at the right time. The need is to befriend more people so that they can be invited to hear the gospel and decide for themselves. But I’m increasingly persuaded that the message is attractive and powerful. As it happens, on the home front, my wife Julia was away for the weekend with some old school friends, so many thanks to my parents in law who looked after our four girls on Sunday while I was in Bedford for the morning. Our current challenge is that the windscreen wipers on our car don’t work, which takes Holloway prayer levels to a whole new level! Only kidding, I’m now trusting a combination of God and Phoenix Vauxhall Wimbledon to solve the problem.
