20 responses for salvation and 5 healings in Bromley

20 responses for salvation and 5 healings in Bromley. My first ever visit to Hope Church (Orpington and Bromley congregations combined) began with 4 people saying they’d been healed during the worship at the Sunday morning meeting Bishop Justus School (16th September). Two of them were in the band on stage! I then preached an evangelistic message to which 5 people responded for salvation. I know that some of these are first-time commitments, and I guess there were around 200 adults listening to the sermon.

After a tremendous curry with the leaders Trevor Payne, Tony Hall and Daniel Macleod, I then moved on to St Luke’s Church, Bromley Common which is going to be the new home of Hope Church, Bromley. It was their first ever meeting in their new venue and youth groups from round the area gathered. I guess we had around 230 people, and there was one healing of a “broken toe” in the worship, after which, 15 people responded for salvation. (The microphone died during the talk, so I just shouted during one illustration, which worked rather well, perhaps I should shout more often!)

Just before the service I met the Arch Deacon of the Rochester C of E Diocese who seemed thrilled that the building was going to be used for proclaiming the gospel, and although it was highly unusual to see so many teenagers sitting in the pews, the venue seemed to work really well.
