18 first-time commitments in Groningen, Holland yesterday

Amazing to see posters of me up on the street in a place called Leek advertising the meeting. I brought one home to show our children which caused great hilarity at breakfast this morning. It’s still up in our kitchen. A huge picture of me with the words “Waarom Geloven?” which means “Why Believe?” So I’m Just back from a great weekend in Holland, where I spoke twice at our Front Edge conference in Harderwijk on Saturday, which was hosted by Henk Kersten, and then I was driven up to an excellent church called Christelijk Centrum, Groningen, led by the delightful Joop Bakker  http://ccg.nu/

I guess there were about 350 adults yesterday morning. Had a great translator called Janine, and even though it seemed to me that the sermon went on forever, nevertheless, 25 people responded for salvation, though pastor Joop said that 7 were re-commitments of those who were already Christians. I’ve also heard great news from two of the other evangelists who were preaching in Holland yesterday, Lex Loizides from Cape Town, and Simon Thomas from Southampton. The Groningen church own an ex-Dutch Reformed Church building which was full, and they are doing a superb job.
