400 at UEA Carol Service last night

Norwich Carol Service host and front man Chris Gaisie did a brilliant job of diffusing the nervous tension at the start of the event by rapping the introduction! No kidding! He freestyled through the welcome with the help of the drummer and it really put everyone at their ease and more than anything communicated to everyone that this was going to be a fun event. He made the whole atmosphere ‘upbeat’ every time he came to the mic. We had the Revelation Rock Gospel Choir, who also did a great job. My talk seemed to go well, at least all I can say is that they all seemed to be paying attention and laughed at my jokes! And there was a great buzz around the mince pies and mulled wine afterwards.

We were in Congregation Hall where students graduate and do their exams. My first time ever on campus at UEA. A massive well done to the CU who put on a great event, especially when you consider that they don’t have society status – something that would have been unheard of 20 years ago.
