Yesterday at the King’s Arms, Bedford

Yesterday I preached morning and evening at the superb King’s House, the new home of Kings Arms Church, Bedford. It was fantastic to see how much the church has grown since I was last there exactly a year ago, and the spiritual temperature was very high. It was great to meet up with Paul & Anne Plagerson, who were part of core team that started Christ Church, London, and also Anne-Claire Elwyn, who also now lives back in Bedford and is also now part of the King’s Arms. I met her on our CCL Alpha Course about 4 yeas ago. She told me yesterday that back then she read my book Aftershock in a day, and became a Christian the following morning.

Another encouragement for me was spending four hours in between services with Julian Adams. He is an extremely gifted guy, and it always impressive when someone like that has time for you, and is so unaffected and humble. He is way beyond me in terms of the realm he is moving in, so it was a real privilege to be able to hang out with him at his new home. I’m now packing my bag to head off to Shropshire, to meet with a number of student leaders at UCCFs “Forum” event. Back in London late Thursday night.
