Yesterday in Leeds

Thirteen people responded to the gospel when I spoke on John 3:16 at baptismal services at Mosaic Church, Leeds yesterday.

I discovered on arriving that since I was last there, they had planted a church in West Leeds, but they still seemed to have more in attendance than when I was there two years ago. Matt & Pippa Hatch and Steve & Leanne Vaughan have done a great job in building such a great church and in reaching so many people, especially through their “Intro” Course, which it seemed all the people who got baptised had been on. I’ve been genuinely taken aback by how many guests they have on Intro. They also give their midweek small groups, a specific ‘mission’ focus, so there is one called “professionals”, and another called “film” etc. They also have contrived the coolest warehouse conversion, meaning that once you are inside their warehouse it really does feel like home.

Four people got baptised, one at the morning service and three at the evening service. They all gave really outstanding testimonies of huge change in their lives, which really prepared the ground for my talk. There were seven others who put their hand up at the end of the morning talk to say “yes” to Jesus, and one additional one after the service ended.

Then in the afternoon, I spoke at the Mosaic Church Leadership Summit, doing some training on healing.

Then it was straight into the 5.00pm service, where five people responded to the appeal for salvation.

Today I’ll be on the bus for the short trip to the HTB Alpha Conference. I’m speaking on “how to double your numbers” on Alpha.
