It was a privilege to preach three times on the parable of the Good Samaritan in our “3D Jesus” series at my home church, Everyday Wimbledon on Sunday. The focus was on person to person forgiveness and it seemed like a good opportunity to get the ball and chain and the cup of wrath out of storage! At the 9.30am and 11.30am services in particular the vast majority of those in the building moved to the tables at the back of the venue to respond. I’d asked people who wanted to respond to the message to go to the back and write on post it notes, bringing named people, literally, to the cross. (We had 2 crosses, one at each response point.) Very moving to see so many people queueing up to respond at the end of each of the morning meetings.
