Great opening night at Exeter University

This photo taken just before my amazing interview with Rose Ahier who told us her fascinating story on the opening night of More Than This at Exeter University. She described how she became a Christian aged 17 on the island of Jersey, without any Christian background and no Christian friends (at least initially). She bought a Bible from Waterstones and googled “Why go to church?” Each night this week I’ll be interviewing someone and then doing a talk off the back of the interview. On Wednesday I’ll be interviewing Manoj Raithtatha, who is an ex-Hindu, ex-Bafta Award Winning TV writer, ex-Property Tycoon, and on Thursday I’m interviewing Conservative MP Gary Streeter, who’s been in Parliament since 1992, and on Friday I’m interviewing Professor Christine Done, who is the first female full professor of Physics at Durham University, her speciality is Black Holes! It’s a privilege to be here. Earlier, at lunchtime, I spoke at two “Big Question” events, the 2nd a new talk entitled “Is God a Kill Joy?” At lunchtime we had 1 person respond by saying “count me in” and 8 others who ticked “like to know more” – all those indicating they are not part of any church nor part of the Christian Union.
