Last ‘normal’ preach before lockdown

Adrian Holloway on March 10, 2020 with 0 Comments

In early March, few knew what was around the corner. I remember that morning there was talk of Covid and some people staying away. I spoke at Crown Church, Hillingdon’s Bishopshalt School venue to around 250 people on “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. And then in the evening, I spoke at ‘The Living Room’, which is the building they own nearby. I guess there were around 50 people there at 6pm. The Living Room is a superbly converted bar. On arrival at The Living Room, I met a man who said he’d become a Christian when I spoke at Carols at Crown in Dec 2018 – that was superb welcome and a great encouragement to me. Dan Smith, who along with his wife Anna hosted me for a wonderful lunch, also told me about another young man who’d become a Christian and part of the church after hearing me preach “The Scales of Justice” back in 2005! Anyway, it’s been a privilege to partner with Crown Church, who have backed me royally for several years.

Here’s what I wrote at the time . . .
It was great to be back at Crown Church Hillingdon on Sunday. In the morning I spoke at their Bishopshalt School venue to around 250 people. And then in the evening, I spoke at The Living Room, which is the venue they own nearby. I guess there were around 50 people there at 6pm. The Living Room is a superbly converted bar, where one of the first converts, I’m told, was a former regular at the bar – if you see what I mean. On arrival at The Living Room on Sunday night, I met a man who said he’d become a Christian when I spoke at Carols at Crown in Dec 2018 – that was superb welcome and a great encouragement to me. Dan Smith, who along with his wife Anna hosted me for a wonderful lunch, also told me about another young man who’d become a Christian and become part of the church after hearing me speak as long ago as 2005. Anyway, it’s been a privilege to partner with Crown Church, who have supported me royally for several years. Pastor James Hunting is currently in Brazil. By the way, the Crown band sounded brilliant both AM and PM.
