Yesterday morning, 11 people who told us they are not part of any church, prayed a salvation response when I spoke at a Carol Service in Airedale, Yorkshire. The truth is that I don’t really know where Airedale is, especially when your knowledge of the north of England is based on which towns have rugby league teams, but on that basis the nearest big town we drove through was Keighley. What was most impressive, is that this venue has only existed since September and I think there’s only about 30 people who normally gather there on Sundays at the Eastburn Primary School hall. But yesterday we had more than twice that number and I guess about 1 in 3 of the guests responded, which is absolutely brilliant. It’s a new site for City Valley Church, whose first Carol Service I spoke at in Shipley (closer to Bradford) on Saturday night.
