City Church, Cambridge and a Stag Weekend

Five Reasons Why We Should Expect God to Heal Today was the title of my talk last Sunday at City Church, Cambridge. It was a training talk, equipping the church in healing, building towards a time when loads of people from the church “pray[ed] for each other so that you may be healed” on the basis of James 5:16. We had 3 people healed immediately in the first service, which created a superb atmosphere. I hope it was a good foundation towards the next step of developing healing ministry in the church.

Later on, I drove back to Christ Church with CCL Alpha legend Steve Humphries.

All in all it was an excellent weekend. The day before, I was at a stag day in Worcester watching my great friend of 22 years, Rowan Kitt, referee Worcester Warriors vs Doncaster in the Championship. The pressure was on, with Worcester having been relegated from the top tier of professional rugby last season. To the great amusement of all of us on the stag day watching from the corporate hospitality boxes, with Worcester losing, Rowan awarded a last minute penalty to the home team. Over it went for a home win. After the stag night in Worcester, I drove through the night and stayed with the amazingly kind Dan & Anna Goodman in Waterbeach. Of course, this is C H Spurgeon country, and I spent all day thinking about the teenage Spurgeon, the boy preacher of the fens!
